What part of Croydon do you live in?
I live in super duper Sanderstead

How long have you lived in Croydon?
Well, I was born on the South coast but have lived in Croydon since I was 2 years old…trust me, it’s a LONG time!! I had a two year stay in Southfields, near Wimbledon, after I married, but came back to my roots and dragged my hubby kicking and screaming with me. He’s a SW London boy at heart, but I’ll make a Croydon boy out of him soon enough! HAH! We’re currently renovating our (hopefully) forever home right now in Sanderstead and can’t wait to move in!

Where’s your favourite place to eat?
Apart from my mum’s house, we have a soft spot for Mekan, in Purley. It’s a yummy Turkish of those places you’ve been to so many times that the staff come and hang out with you over your meal haha! Otherwise, I love Box Park for the variety and the fun vibes – have you tried Pasta di Rocca? It’s so good, and of course a cheeky Nandos over in Valley Park. YUM!

Where’s your favourite place to drink?
We’re talking milkshakes in the middle of the night, right? My hubby got me into the shakes from Aroma Cafe on Brighton Road here in South Croydon. He hangs out with his boys there sometimes and I think it’s a shisha lounge but the milkshakes are awesome. You’ve got to order the Mint Aero one!!! (Then maybe plan a run for the next morning to work it off hahaha!!) Also, after all these years of not drinking a drop of caffeine, I’m now totally addicted to coffee, oops… Byte Cafe do a great Latte.

What’s your favourite thing to do in Croydon?
Oooh, a spot of shopping, looking forward to the new Westfield! Also, I recently discovered The Ludoquist and OMG, how fun… I’m such a geek. Another thing I love about this borough is that it has SO many parks. As a mum of a toddler, there is always somewhere around the corner for an impromptu playdate!

What’s the coolest thing about Croydon?
My favourite thing about Croydon is how it is such a melting pot of different cultures. I think this diversity has led to so many different indie businesses opening up here, producing great food, art and events in the area.
