Where do you live in Croydon?
We currently live in Brockley but grew up in Croydon and work at TMRW in Croydon (a buzzy, friendly spot to base ourselves, with a great little café downstairs called Byte).
How long did you live in Croydon?
We were both born and grew up around Croydon (Helen in Shirley, Al in Woldingham) and went to school here.
Where’s your favourite place to eat in Croydon?
Box Park has opened a load of brilliant new street food options. We normally get a dish from a few different places, but Coqfighter and Kothu Kothu are two of the regulars… Otherwise, Little Bay is a quirky classic if you like your dinner with a side of live opera!
Where’s your favourite place to drink in Croydon?
In our youth, there were SO many options…we tended to stick to a rotation of the Blue Orchid, Tiger Tiger, Lloyds, and the Skylark… Now we’re back, there have been some changes! The Joker is a fab new addition to South Croydon.
What’s your favourite thing to do in Croydon?
Right now, we spend a lot of our time here working and meeting up with friends who’ve moved back. There are some gorgeous (no really!) spots for a walk around the Croydon area too; some of our favourites are up at the Addington Hills viewpoint, or further out around Woldingham and Oxted.
What’s the coolest thing about Croydon?
The history: buildings dating back to the 9th century. The arts: Croydon Arts College, the Brit School and Fairfield Halls. It’s more than a little underrated – but few people venture this far south of the river to find that out 😉
