Where do you live?
How long have you lived in Croydon?
Most of my life. I was raised in Thornton Heath and (apart from university) I have lived all over the Borough including Carshalton, Coulsdon and South Norwood.
Where’s your favourite place in Croydon to eat?
My go to and guilty pleasure is Coq Fighter at Boxpark. If I want home cooking I go to Abshar’s for Iranian food, and The Store for a roast dinner. You can’t drive past the Tasty Jerk centre without stopping for Jerk pork.
Where’s your favourite place in Croydon to drink?
Lots of new places have started to fill The Black Sheep (RIP) bars void. Phase is an exciting new late night venue and there are lots of quirky bars and cafes that have popped up recently. The Store does great cocktails and The Oval Tavern is a great pub with a garden and live music.
What’s your favourite thing to do in Croydon?
When the sun is out, the parks are beautiful, and my favourite is South Norwood lakes. There are lots festivals which have a great community spirit. Now with places like The Front Room and the re-opening of Fairfield Halls, there is always something to see.
What’s the coolest thing about Croydon?
The energy, there are so many creative people here, creating new and diverse work, it really makes me proud to live and work in such a creative place.
