Where better to spend the hottest day of the year, than amongst Croydon’s finest kegs and tanks? (not a euphemism).
On Wednesday 26 June, 75 Croydoners headed to Signal Brewery for our (slightly belated!) Spring Party.
With pints (and wine glasses) in hand, guests were greeted by #ProfessionalMinglers (Fey, Gwen and Nicole) who soon got people chatting. With over half of attendees flying solo for the evening, a game of Human Bingo provided an easy (but not too cheesy?) ice breaker.
Whilst finding “someone with their hair up” or with “something pierced” proved relatively straight forward, other boxes required a little more digging and it was lovely to hear people connecting over shared festival experiences or childhood tales.
Shout out to Rob for delighting and confusing Bingo players in equal measure with his stance on pizza (IYKYK).
Jay Knox kept the beats as fresh as the beer, with a great mix of tracks (and a nod to the football) til well after sunset.
The talented team that is Mark and Josephine from Olive Tree Productions once again captured the event beautifully with their drones, steady hand and eye for detail (see video below!)
Congrats to all the Bingo winners whose conversational efforts were rewarded with treats from The Store, Basil and Grape, David Lean Cinema, Collaborative One and Deli by Dirty Crunch.
Feedback suggests the biggest prizes went to those who exchanged numbers and/or joined newly formed What’s App groups of friends. We can’t wait to see what the ‘Addiscumbags’ and the ‘Brunch Biatches’ do next (although the outing for the second group seems pretty clear!)
“Met some amazing people (and sneakers). So much creative talent in our Borough” Niz
“Always the right vibe” Norman
“Had such a blast meeting new locals! A bunch of us are now planning to meet up at our local pub.” Olivia
Now when should we have our (official) Summer Party?
