What is Anti-Networking?
It’s a rejection of traditional, transactional networking – the kind where people awkwardly or forcefully pitch themselves and try to “get something” from others.
What are these events about?
At our Anti-Networking events, we aim to create more genuine spaces – where local business people can connect as humans first, not just job titles. It’s about listening, sharing real experiences, and supporting each other – rather than hardcore pitching or performing.
There’s no pressure to sell yourself, and vulnerability, honesty, and creativity are not only welcomed but encouraged. Expect real talk, and a chance to collaborate, share ideas, and support each other as a local business network.
Ditch the pitch and swap the suit for conversation and connection that last long after the music fades.
Who are they for?
In short – local business owners and entrepreneurs – but today’s workforce language is confusing! Whatever you call yourself (small business owner, freelancer, founder, creative, side hustler, solopreneur, or digital nomad) if you’re based in Croydon and want to connect with local businesses, you’re very welcome here. All you need to register is a Unique Taxpayer Reference (UTR) or Company Registration Number (CRN).
