Ticket for One

Fed up of missing out on decent nights out because diaries (or interests) don’t line-up with your friends/family/partner?

We know going to an event solo can feel daunting – but not anymore…

With East Croydon Cool’s ‘Ticket for One’, you’ll meet our friendly rep and 10 other guests (who are also flying solo) for a welcome drink, before heading in together to enjoy some of the best cultural events in town.

Sip & Draw
Mon 16 Feb 2026

Our ‘Ticket for One’ guests met in the David Lean Cinema bar for a few glasses of Chapel Down and a chat before heading into Braithwaite Hall together. The evening was led by Rachel Gadsden – a leading British visual and performance artist and was being run as part of the Borough’s wider ‘National Gallery – Art on your Doorstep’ programme – but was very much open to all abilities! Rachel shared her creative journey, guided us through the process of creating our own portrait, and then invited everyone to help create a brand-new collaborative artwork for Croydon – aka the ‘Croydon Masterpiece’. The free bar and nibbles table helped keep creativity flowing during the 2 hour workshop and nervous beginners soon turned into confident creators – with connections formed over successes (and wonkier attempts!)

Train(Wreck)
Thurs 30 October 2025
Our ‘Ticket for One’ guests met for a (#CroydonMug) of wine at our Bootleg bar before boarding the “Train” together. Created by TomYumSim as part of the Croydonites Festival programme, Train(wreck) ensured full steam ahead on immersive theatre madness! This delirious, ever-mutating satire provided audience members with AI-fuelled chaos, emergency dance breaks, surprise exits, and karaoke they didn’t (fully) sign up for.

Samuel Coleridge Taylor at 150
Sun 19 October 2025
Our ‘Ticket for One’ guests met for a glass of Champagne in the foyer bar before heading inside to enjoy this orchestral performance together. Held at Fairfield Halls, this powerful musical tribute to celebrate the 150 anniversary of Croydon composer Samuel Coleridge-Taylor, featured performances from Tunde Jegede, Braimah Kanneh-Mason and the Croydon SDA Gospel Choir.
