This morning we attended the Virtual Launch of the Croydon Business Resilience Awards. The annual Croydon Business Awards event run by White Label, has “pivoted” a bit this year (in keeping with the rest of the business world!) and for 2021 will be focused on celebrating the resilience of local businesses over the past 12 months.
The Croydon Business Resilience Awards 2021 will reflect the challenges and opportunities that businesses have faced during the pandemic and acknowledge how they have adapted and innovated to ensure they survived through lockdown. From today, businesses across the borough are invited to apply to the (free and easy to enter!) awards.
We have seen first-hand what incredible innovation, creativity and dedication the Croydon business community has shown this past year. But we also know some businesses can be a bit shy when it comes to nominating themselves! So we want to encourage local residents to nominate the businesses that have helped get them through. (Those businesses will then be contacted by Croydon Awards to tell them they’ve been nominated and asked to submit an official entry).
So, over to you Croydon residents:
Is there a restaurant whose food delivery brought some excitement to your weekly meals?
Is there a gym who helped you keep that lockdown weight off with virtual training sessions?
Is there a bar whose cocktail deliveries made your Friday nights a little more exciting?
Is there a local creative who’s products allowed you to send a little cheer through the post?
Is there a coffee shop whose postal caffeine deliveries kept you going while WFH?
Now is your time to show them you appreciate them and any other locals who have impressed you with their ingenuity! It is SUPER easy to nominate (and takes less than five minutes!)
There are ten different categories which we’ve detailed below along with links to the nomination criteria.
Business Pivot Award
During these challenging times, some businesses have gone to remarkable efforts to diversify or adapt their products and services for the greater good. Their innovation and selflessness may have helped their communities, or volunteers and staff in sectors at the forefront of the fightback against COVID-19.
